Fibres are probably the most extensively used security feature embedded in paper. Fibres have appeared in paper for hundreds of years.

Advances in counterfeiting have meant that the traditional invisible fluorescent colours, such as blue and yellow, are now too easily reproduced by conventional printing techniques and more recently by ink-jet printing. One answer to this has been to introduce fibres with colours that are more difficult to produce such as invisible fluorescent reds or with bi-fluorescence or IR reflectance.

However there is still a large demand for some of the simpler fibres and we can manufacture a wide range of colours and sizes for you.

In addition we have made a significant improvement to 'mono-colour' fibres and can now produce fibres with a U.V. colour switch.

This fibre works in the same way as U.V. switch threads and planchettes and because it is in the form of a very thin filament it is almost impossible to simulate or counterfeit - even by the most determined and well-equipped criminal.
